Woodside Engagement Session
My yearly routine has fallen in to a predictable yet exciting rhythm as a photographer. The new year starts with cozy proposals and couples visiting families for the holidays. Receiving Christmas cards from both the newly marrieds who tied the knot over the summer and families I’ve watched grow up through my lens. As the winter subsides and flowers begin to pop up, my calendar is quickly booked up with the engagement sessions of the giddy couples getting married in the warm sunshine. May through August are jam packed weeks that feels very hurry-up-and-wait. Early coffees and late night dance floors, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. After my last wedding I’ll prepare my families for their fall sessions, which I like to start as early as possible so they aren’t rushed to begin their Christmas cards.
Despite these recurring beats, each season brings new delights and surprises. Woodside seems to be a place untouched by it all, stunningly beautiful all year round. The air is fresh and the sun is warm on the days the hills can hold off the cloud bank that rolls in from the ocean. This sunshine was exactly what we needed after weeks of rain in California.
