Hey there! My name is Kamarin, but you can call me Kami.

I’ve been smitten with California since a fourth grade field trip to Yosemite. A born-and-raised San Franciscian, I was blind to the beauty of the west coast, taking for granted all that we have here. Suddenly my eyes were opened experiencing the beauty of nature on that trip.

Ever since then I’ve spent all my time exploring the nooks-and-crannies of the Golden State. Driving north I became captivated with the sneaky trails through Tahoe and the Mendocino forests. Later I went south and worked for the Walt Disney Company, falling in love with Hollywood history and kitschy theme park culture. These days I always carry my annual pass (My National Parks Pass & Disneyland Pass) in one of my beloved novelty purses.

I’m lucky enough to have married the most incredible man in the entire world. Grant and I met in High School and we’ve been almost inseparable ever since. When booking a session I will probably push for a day that Grant is also available, he’s just so fun and helpful! He has been the most amazing cheerleader of my endeavors, and nobody pushes me to be better like he does.

We are massively grateful to God, who has made all this possible for us. He is the original artist, storyteller, and faithful teacher. God’s love for us, his creation, is the reason I can be enthusiastic about capturing who you are. We love because he first loved us.

I worked antique fairs over the summer if you count that, but the first place I was ever hired was Disneyland! I was a happy cast member for 5 years!

What can instantly turn our day around?

We will never say no to a good cup of coffee! Blue Bottle is a particular favorite of ours.

If I wasn’t a photographer

I’d love to go back and work in animation or become a personal stylist!

Books and movies on my mind

I’m currently re-reading Walter Moers ‘13 1/2 lives of Captain Bluebear’ and watching The Crocodile Hunter.

Our dream vacation

Take us to New Zealand! Kami loves anywhere that has a beach. Grant vacations to catch up on sleep.

So, so many, but the California Academy of Sciences has to be up there! Any museum weddings!

If we could time travel

Grant would want to see the future and hop in a flying car, but I’d want to go back and have a conversation with Laura Ingalls Wilder.

On your wedding day I want to emphasize how unique and wonderful your love story is! These photos will only become more precious and valuable as the years go by. My hope is for you to be excited about this experience, and look back on it as a fond memory you will share together. My style is that of an honest storyteller’s. Emotional, intimate, and authentic. From dress fluffing, cake cutting, to your grand exit, I’ll be there to document every sweet moment.
