Sunset Cliffs Engagement

When it came to Shannon & Cam’s engagement session, I could not imagine a better spot for them than the Sunset Cliffs in San Diego. I first met Shannon years ago, long before I took the leap into a full time photography career. I instantly connected with her family’s warmth and generosity, as they graciously hosted my best friend and I as we were traveling. I would get to see her several times over the years and even get to photograph them as I would be passing through San Diego. I can’t tell you how ecstatic I was when Shannon reached out for wedding photography! San Diego is such a special place for so many people, and revisiting with the intentions of celebrating this sweet couple made it all the better.

Shannon and Cam are just the sweetest souls. Together they are thoughtful, introspective, and intentional. True to the Southern California attitude, they were super easy going and willing to pivot out plans when the tide was too high and we lost beach access to our original location! We ended up having to hike a bit and then scale down a cliff (Which was incredible to see Shannon do, keeping her dress pristine!) to get some incredible sunset photos on the beach! It was such an adventure and so, so worth it. It was such a joy to document them simply being present together.

I drove away from this session feeling overwhelmingly blessed to know such wonderful people, and blessed to live in such an incredible place! I simply cannot wait to photograph their wedding at the end of October!
