Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Engagement

Ice cream on a hot day, a salty breeze in the air, and boisterous laughing from tourists.

Not a lot can beat the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk on a summer day. It was such a fun and adventurous location for Jess & Troy, who made a last minute pivot as we discovered our original location was going to be overcast.

I am SO grateful that they both trusted me and were open to the idea of a location change. The ambiance of the boardwalk added such a fun flair to this session!

Interested in having a photoshoot here? Let’s go! If you feel like you’re going to be camera shy it’s best to schedule an early morning session. There won’t be as much to interact with, but you’ll still have the charm and vibrancy of the backdrops.

The boardwalk is completely free to enter, but you’ll still need to be mindful of other guests. This engagement session took place on a Saturday, so Jess & Troy were ready to be patient to get the shot!

Location Tip: The Boardwalk is busiest on weekends over the summer. They refresh & repaint right before the season starts, which means everything was vibrant during our visit in September.
