Kahihae Florals

One of the most striking parts of the Hawaiian Islands are the lush and vibrant array of flowers. Growing in every crevice they can, flowers and greenery take over every street and sidewalk they can. Flowers have always been a part of Checka’s life, growing up on the island and tending a garden with her grandmother. This passion passed down lead her to pursue Tropical Agriculture studies in school, all while practicing traditional dance. It was such a joy to photograph this passionate and talented lady. Her intentionality behind each stunning piece she creates, skill and dedication to an age old craft, and confidence in the beauty she brings to every event. This session was just as vibrant and fun as the art pieces she creates.
